SafeWork NSW has published the 2026 'Collection and transport of waste' Code of Practice, which supersedes the legacy pre-WHS 'Collection of Domestic Waste' Code of Practice. The new COP is framed around the WHS Act 2011 duty-holder concept (PCBUs) and covers: WHS management systems, hazard identification and risk control, consultation requirements, vehicle safety, route planning, extreme weather protocols, safe unloading, and management of regulated/hazardous waste.
