Part 8 of the WHS Regulations 2011 (Cth) requires building owners and PCBUs to identify asbestos and ACM in workplaces, prepare and maintain an asbestos register and management plan, and ensure removal is performed by licensed removalists (Class A for friable, Class B for non-friable). Clearance inspections and air monitoring obligations apply. Unlicensed removal or failure to maintain the register attracts significant penalties.
