The obligation
The NEPC Special Account pools jurisdictions' contributions to fund collaborative national action under the NEPC Act.
The Act formalises co-funding arrangements for inter-jurisdictional projects. The NEPC support team manages the Special Account, including revenue contributions and expenditure for all regions. The Special Account lets jurisdictions support another jurisdiction's lead work on a policy issue through modest contributions and share in its outputs. The NEPC Service Corporation was abolished in 2014, and its functions are provided by a hosting jurisdiction, the Commonwealth.
