The obligation
PCBUs must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, that workplace layout, lighting, and ventilation enable workers to carry out work without risks to health and safety.
Under the WHS Act and Regulations, a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the physical work environment — including workspace layout, lighting, and ventilation — does not expose workers or others to health and safety risks. The Code provides practical guidance on assessing and controlling risks arising from the physical workplace environment.
