The obligation
PCBUs must apply the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or minimise worker exposure to RCS dust, as required by the WHS Regulation and this Code.
The Code requires PCBUs to identify hazards, assess risks, and apply the hierarchy of controls to manage RCS exposure. Engineering controls (e.g. local exhaust ventilation, wet methods) are preferred over administrative controls and PPE. Air monitoring and health surveillance obligations apply where exposure limits may be exceeded.
