The obligation
Where asbestos or ACM is identified (or assumed) at a workplace, a PCBU must prepare a written asbestos management plan and review it at least every 5 years.
An asbestos management plan must be prepared where asbestos or ACM is present or likely to be present. It must describe how the asbestos will be managed, including the decisions made and reasons, control measures, procedures for incidents, and how information will be provided to workers. The plan must be reviewed every 5 years, after notifiable incidents involving asbestos, or when no longer adequate. It must be accessible to workers and HSRs.
