The obligation
A person with management or control of a workplace must ensure the presence and location of all identified or assumed asbestos or ACM is clearly indicated.
Under WHS Regulation 424, this duty covers asbestos or ACM identified at the workplace and asbestos or ACM assumed to be there, including where it is inaccessible. If reasonably practicable, the presence and location must be indicated by a label, although signs may be more appropriate. The Code gives examples of labels and signs, but the suggested words are not mandatory.
