The obligation
PCBUs must ensure enough workers are trained in first aid, or that workers can reach enough other trained people.
At a minimum, first aiders should hold a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment from a Registered Training Organisation for the Provide First Aid unit, or a course giving equivalent skills. Higher-level or extra training may be needed where work is remote or isolated, dangerous substances are present, specialist equipment or a first aid room is installed, children are present, psychological risks are identified, or workers have existing medical conditions.
