The obligation
PCBUs must give written notice to the regulator at least 5 business days before commencing specified high-risk demolition work.
Under WHS Regulation 142, a PCBU must notify the relevant regulator in writing at least 5 days before commencing: demolition of a load-bearing or structural-integrity-related structure at least 6 metres in height; or demolition work involving load-shifting machinery on a suspended floor. Failure to notify is a breach of the Regulations. Notice must be given before any work in the notifiable category starts.
