The obligation
PCBUs must arrange and fund health monitoring for workers exposed to hazardous dusts during abrasive blasting, with strict record-keeping and reporting duties.
PCBUs must inform workers of health monitoring requirements, engage a registered medical practitioner with relevant experience, pay all costs, and obtain and distribute monitoring reports. Reports indicating disease or recommending remediation must be provided to the regulator. Records must be kept for at least 30 years (40 years for asbestos exposure). Disclosure without written worker consent is prohibited.
